Local walks

There's a number of local walks in Dumbarton. You can go wander as you like, or you can follow some mapped popular routes. Find out more about local popular walks on the West Dunbartonshire Council website.

 

West Dunbartonshire CVS run a number of weekly Health Walks across West Dunbartonshire, including in Dumbarton. Walks are under an hour and start with a short warm up, followed by a brisk walk and then a short cool down at the end. Find out more about health walks on the Paths for All website.

Cycling

Dumbarton is a part of the National Route 7 cycle network which runs from Sunderland, England up to Inverness, Scotland.

 

The full route is 540 miles long and passes through stunning areas of beauty before reaching its end points.

West Dunbartonshire Leisure

You can access local gyms, swimming pools and leisure centres run by West Dunbartonshire Leisure if you sign up as a member.

Access to Leisure Card

The Access to Leisure Card is a concessionary card that gives adults in receipt of certain benefits discounted access to the leisure facilities run by West Dunbartonshire Council.

​

It costs £10 per adult to join the scheme (£3 for those over 60) and an application form can be found on the WDC Leisure website.

The Leisure Card

The Leisure Card is a concessionary card that gives school children in West Dunbartonshire discounted access to certain facilities.

​

It doesn't cost anything to get your first Leisure Card, but a fee might be charged for any replacements. You can find an application form on the WDC Leisure website.
